Maria Callas trône à Paris

On April 3, 2025, at the Maison de l’UNESCO in Paris, Akis Kalmoukis performed at the unveiling of Nikos Floros’ statue of Maria Callas, in an event organized under the auspices of the Greek and Italian Permanent Delegations to UNESCO. With the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop, Akis offered a lyrical tribute featuring “Una furtiva lagrima” (L’elisir d’amore – Donizetti), “Pourquoi me réveiller” (Werther – Massenet), “La donna è mobile” (Rigoletto – Verdi), and “Nessun Dorma” (Turandot – Puccini), followed by a heartfelt a cappella excerpt of “Parigi, o cara” (La Traviata – Verdi). For this prestigious evening, he was styled by Prince Erotokritos (Erotokritos Kymionis), uniting music, art, and haute couture in a tribute worthy of Callas’ legacy
